The Fuses Are Tripping

The Fuses Are Tripping

This is easy to identify if an individual electrical item has stopped working. Firstly check whether or not the fuse has blown by replacing that fuse. The important thing to remember is to use the same type of fuse.

Eg, replace a 13A fuse with another 13A fuse. If the object now works, then it was a simple case of a blown fuse. If the object still doesn't work, it means something needs repairing or replacing.

Did The Fuse Trip The Fuse Box?

Did The Fuse Trip The Fuse Box?

If one area of the house is without power, but everywhere else is working, the most frequent explanation is that one of the fuses in the fuse box has been tripped. This is generally because of a problem with one of the electrical objects plugged into that circuit.

Occasionally a faulty electrical appliance or poor lighting will trip the switch in the consumer unit. This will continue to happen unless it is fixed by a qualified, professional electrician.

Are You Having Power Cuts?

Are You Having Power Cuts?

Power cuts do happen from time to time, so no need for panic!

Before you phone the electricity company, check to see if your neighbours are also affected. If only your house has no power, then it’s probably your electrical system that has been affected by a surge of power which has tripped the fuse box.

Be sure to keep a lookout for the following faulty symptoms:
